about
The Song of a Small Goose is originally a mythical song that describes the relationship of this divine entity with the human dimension. It was played with a 9 stringed harp by Timofey Ivanovich Kechimov. He appears with the same song in a famous Estonian documentary film Sons of Toorum by Lennart Meri (1984). The differences in the two versions in tuning and hence in the melody line are striking, and yet the tune is unmistakably recognizable. For my version I have combined these both tunings and de-tuned the g-string to resemble the lowest harp string that Ketchimov uses as a rhythmic drone note.
